Treatment Techniques- Graston Technique

Graston technique is used to reduce muscle tightness.

Graston Technique

What is Graston Technique?

  • Graston Technique is an instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization technique that treats fascial restrictions and scar tissue. This technique helps to improve range of motion, increase flexibility, and decrease pain.

What Conditions does It Help with?

  • The most commonly treated conditions are:
    • Muscle pain/stiffness
    • Muscle spasms
    • Tendonitis
    • Muscle strain/ Ligament sprains
    • Scar tissue management

    What does the treatment entail?

  • The patient will be positioned comfortably, with  the targeted area relaxed.
  • A medium will be applied to the surface of the skin to allow the Graston tool to slide.
  • The Graston tool will be used over the targeted area for around 2-3 minutes per area.
